Pledging your support ahead of Election Day, Monday, October 26, 2026, will ensure that Eric's team can send you a friendly reminder by email, text, phone, or mail about how and when you'll vote.
The City Clerk will release in-person voting details soon.
Your first online voting opportunity is planned for Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Online voting will remain available until 8:00 pm sharp on Election Day.
This fall, the City of Oshawa will send all eligible municipal electors a Voter Information Letter (VIL). Your VIL will include details on how to get a personalized code that will enable you to safely and securely cast your secret ballot using a personal computer, tablet, or smartphone on or before Election Day.
If you do not receive a VIL, you may still be eligible to vote provided that you are a Canadian citizen who's at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day and normally reside in Oshawa or own property here.
For clarity, Permanent Residents and temporary visitors to Canada are not eligible to vote in this municipal election, even if they own or rent property in Oshawa.
If you haven't already checked or updated your municipal voter registration, please do so now. This is very important if you've recently moved to our city, relocated within Oshawa, or are a renter or student.
From experience, we know that thousands of renters, students, and recent movers who are eligible to vote are unintentionally missing from the Voters' List.
It's crucial that you take a minute to ensure you're ready and registered to vote by checking your registration or signing up online at RegisterToVoteON.ca.
As always, eligible electors who are not on the Voters' List will still be able to register and cast their ballot at one of several in-person voting locations on Election Day.
